new buyer looking

Hi I'm looking at two used Infiniti's, (1) a 2006 G35x with 119,000 miles on it for $4K and (2) considering a 2011 G37x with 44K with rebuilt title (rear end damage, partial bodywork complete) for $6K. Both look tempting for the price. So any advice on either? I'm from New York and I'm aware the 2011 would have to be inspected by DMV before a title is issued.

Thanks in advance for reading this, would appreciate some feedback on either model or any rebuilt title experiences.

Wow that's a difficult decision... normally I would NEVER recommend a salvage title but that's one heck of a price tag and the VQ37VHR and 7AT are a much better powertrain than the VQ35DE / 5AT. My advice is to have the 2011 taken to Nissan for an inspection and an alignment, make sure they can pull the alignment back into spec or you will be spending $1k on tires per year for the rest of the vehicles life which will quickly eat away at the amount you're saving up front. Also have a complete inspection done especially for BODY RUST at the point of impact since you're on the east side where they love to pour corrosives all over the road for traction in the winter.

If the 2011 doesn't pass inspection take the 2006 in and have it inspected as well, if it passes then buy it. You can't go wrong with either but a 44k mile 2011 will likely last for longer than a 119k 2006.
