I want a G-35 but can't afford one

Hello I am Mitch. I am a 22 yearr old computer science student. I drive a 95 Sunfire. I really like the G35, and the more I read about it and look at pictures of it on the internet the more I want it. Unfortunately I make just barely enough money to cover my tuition and can barely even afford the insurance on my current car. What should I do?

Well I really like Lamborghinis and I can't afford one. :)

Wait until you graduate and get a job and then get one. If you are good at CS then you should make at least 40k when you graduate.

Is this a trick question? It's just a car, although a very nice one. Wait until you can afford it without mortgaging your future.

Are you serious?????

If you really want it, get a better job. It's all about determination and prioroties in this life.

You're 22...so you'll be done with school this year or next year, right?

Find a good job, keep your Sunfire as long as it will hold up, save up first,
find a place of your own with at least a gated garage, and by the time
you got enough downpayment $10k or so, ask yourself again if it's worth
buying the G.

Don't start buying expensive cars right out of college when you don't have
anything...especially if you can't at least afford to live in a gated apartment
complex. A lot of kids buy expensive cars right out of college, buy mods
on their credit cards that they can't even afford, and then come crawling
back to their mama's house to crash. very sad. don't be the one.

Plus you also need to know it's not just the car.

Insurance @ age 22 for this car can still be a hefty sum. It has to be full coverage until you own the car (finish payments to bank).

Maintenence and gas can be a killer also. My cars avg MPG is around 20. It is a heartache for me to always see $40+ on a full tank.

The mod bug is also out to get you. It's relentless once you catch it. I got it and I haven't stopped throwing money at my car. =/

Just make sure you are financially stable before you buy any new car.

Take your time. Life is a process that you can't change unless you win the lottery.

I agree with the others. Don't get in debt now at such a young age. By the time you're ready to buy the car you want, you'll feel amazing buying it and saying it's paid for.

More reason to take advantage of a good education and expand your options for the future.

. . . and what does that have to do with the question at hand? What is your point?

Meth68 Jul 24, 2005 01:44 PM

you could always buy a cheaper maxima, I mean I guess it would be the closest thing to a g35 but less money. But I mean best bet is if you like the coupe so much just wait and save up, never know maybe they will fix the seatbelt issue in '07 ;)

LOL, glad you've got good taste in rides, but don't be distracted from you studies bro. Time enough later for a G.
Welcome to G35Driver BTW. Stay in touch and read up on things for when the time is right to go shopping. :) ;)
