Haha, hey guys. Just got home from a concert - I forgot all about it so I got home and my wife was like "wtf mate, let's go!".

I will have pics tomorrow.

Was a great time, thanks everyone for coming. We had 22 people total and 18 people in the draw which Igor won. Sam, Colin, and Mike all drove away with shiney cars and I have 4 large pizzas in my fridge.

I will post a list of recommended products/sites/etc tomorrow asap!

Hey!
It was a good time. I was glad I came out to meet everyone from the group. It's good to know who everyone is..even though, I forget almost half already (the faces and the real names).
Thanks for setting up a successfully meet Kevin/Collin/Sam.

I learned a lot of stuff on how to clean the car from Kevin. You are very informative. I am amazed at what that Porter Cable can do with the right materials. I'm really going to need it now...
Yesterday, I went out and was parking, and I was backing up, and the rear end hit some steps. now its all scratched below the bumper. I need to get that stuff out!

- side note, I went to www.eshine.ca and they have the kit with the porter cable, but you select the three pads. Kevin, can you suggest which three pads I should get? Thanks!

Heya - you should grab at least one orange, white, and grey. I would personally suggest getting another orange and white - just because it'll make your life easier when polishing (you won't have to clean and dry one each time you use a new product). FWIW, orange is light cutting (scratch removal), white is polishing (so very light cut, light scratch removal or final polishing) and grey is finishing, so sealant/wax application.

Yellow is very aggressive. You can get one if you have deep scratches, but you will likely only need one.

Hey guys, as mentioned here are some product recommendations. I am going to keep the descriptions brief because I am dead tired. I am going to try to keep the sites I recommend to eshine.ca and detailedimage.com. Eshine is Canadian, DI is US but will ship USPS.

First, buckets, soap: Get it at Canadian Tire. They have buckets with grit guards and Meguiars Deep Crystal or Gold Class Soap is fine. Remember to use the soap IN THE RECOMMENDED CONCENTRATION, or you will strip your wax.

Alternatively the folks interested in the rinseless wash, eshine.ca has it here: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=172

Mitts, I like sheepskin, but there are some ok MF ones. eshine.ca only has mf: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=81

carcaresmart has sheepskin: http://www.carcaresmart.com/page/C/PROD/_MDT/WM0200140

DI has awesome sheepskin ones, but they are $$ http://www.detailedimage.com/store/p...products_id=58

microfibers. eshine.ca has good ones, both $3.00 and $5.00 ones. Remember, wash your good ones and bad ones (the ones you use on wheels, door jambs, etc) seperately.

DI also has very good mf's now. http://www.detailedimage.com/store/p...roducts_id=166, again $$ but they rock (I like getting them in packs of 5 or 10)

Porter Cable: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=188&cat=27

best deal in Canada. Get an orange, white, and grey pad. If you intend on doing your whole car I would strongly recommend getting a second of each. If you're using it for spot scratch removal and wax/sealant application, you're ok with one of each.

Polishes: Now, unfortauntely eshine.ca doesnt carry menznera, which I always recommend. They do have Optimum which is a good line but a *tad* user un-friendly. Why is it user unfriendly? It takes awhile to flash (break down), so it can take a little practice to get results. I like it because it can be used in the sun and will not dust. Links:

opt hyper (aggressive, for heavy swirl removal) http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=158

Opt compound (medium, light swirl removal) http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=145

Opt Polish (finishing polish)
http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=147

Now, if you want menzerna you have to go to DI, which is fine. I would only do this if you intend on polishing your whole car, otherwise stick with optimim or poorboys polishes. Here are DI's menzerna links:

powergloss (super heavy, for very heavy compouding only) http://www.detailedimage.com/store/p...roducts_id=424

intensive polish (great moderate polish, for light to moderate swirls)http://www.detailedimage.com/store/p...products_id=97

final polish II (my favorite finishing polish)
http://www.detailedimage.com/store/p...products_id=99

OK, sealants and waxes.

First, sealants. You guys saw me use Jeffs Werkstatt and Zaino yesterday. Both are great, but neither can be bought anywhere but the manufacturers site (or in the case of zaino, at the barbers chair). If you want werkstatt you need to go to jeffswerkstatt.com. Prime Strong and Acrylic Jett Trigger are the ones you want.

Now if you want sealants that eshine.ca and DI sell, there are good ones too!

Klasse AIO http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=1
Klasse SG http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=2

use these just like the werkstatts.

poorboys ex-p, great sealant, 4 months durabilty and VERY easy to use: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=45

Waxes:

Clearkote Carnauba: High gloss, high depth, medium wetness, lasts about 4-6 weeks. Application is extremly easy, removal is moderate. Can be applied by a PC. http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=123

P21S: High gloss, very reflective and deep, low to moderate wetness, provides that "carnauaba" glow. Durabilty is 4-6 weeks, application is easy (it's a paste, so by hand), removal is *very* easy. http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=17

Nattys Blue: Medium gloss, very reflective, medium depth, *very* wet. Durabilty is 4-6 weeks, application is easy, removal is moderate. The Blue is made for dark cars (although I like it on all cars), they have a "white" version for silver and white cars. http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=PoorboysNattyWax

Souveran: my favorite, only lasts 4 weeks, looks amazing, very expensive. its a beauty wax straight up. http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=119

Which you choose is a personal decision. P21S is twice the cost of Nattys and Clearkote Carnauba, it's the easiest to remove, and probably the deepest and most reflective, but not quite as "wet" looking as nattys. If you like the carnauba glow it's great. I like wet, so I normally use nattys. I prefer P21S on ligher colored cars, nattys on dark colors. Souveran works on everything, but its $90.

Other notables:

Trim Restore: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=58&cat=13

metal polish: http://eshine.ca/products.php?cat=16

303: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=7&cat=14

a good non-acid wheel cleaner: http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=164

an acid wheel cleaner (use as directed, not for use on aluminum, chrome) http://eshine.ca/proddetail.php?prod=108

If I forgot anything let me know.
