I can't believe it worked

So on Tuesday I picked up a 2007 G35 Coupe from a dealership in Minneapolis after somewhere around a year of homework on bringing back a US vehicle. Things went suprisingly smooth and thanks to the exchange rate there are apparently 30 US cars coming across the border every day in Manitoba. It was a new experience for us but surprisingly familiar for the people at the border.

So I guess I'll be posting some newbie photos just as soon as it stops raining.

The only hurdles left to clear now are the federal inspection, and whatever hassels the dealership will give us over the warranty.

Are there any secrets to getting daytime running lights installed? Apparently the worst case scenario is we'll have to purchase a new Canadian programmed body control module.

Liquid Platinum / DG Leather

It's the sweetest car I've ever owned and have no clue why I even considered anything else. I test drove a new S2000 but for that much money all you get is a bare bones 2 seater convertible.

There's always a ton of power, although I haven't used all of it yet since I'm still breaking it in. :icon38:

I'm impressed, well done.

Congrats. I'm not surprised to hear about the numbers of cars being imported from the US. We have frequently paid an enormous premium on most car models here in Canada beyond what one would expect with currency exchanges between the US or even Japan.

Ok so it's still raining here in Winnipeg, for some reason we ended up with Vancouver weather this week. I should be able to get some nice pics of the car up tomorrow.

As far as DRL's go, Birchwood Infiniti worked on the car and we picked it up, but I'm suspicious as to what they did. It's almost like they just grounded the front headlight wires because as soon as I start the car the lights come on in any lighting position, at the same intensity. That's a good way to pass the federal inspection, but it would be better if they worked properly and came on when the E-brake is released.

Anyways I'll keep posts on the continuing saga, at least my ****box 92 Honda Accord finally sold today. Good riddance.

FYI, I have posted a DYI to convert the temperature readouts to celsius

Hope it helps!

Hey just a question about the DRL's, which lights are the ones that come on when the e-brake is released?

RiCeBrNr, that's a great DIY. My dash is a little different but I'm no stranger to soldering wires and doing ghetto mods, so I'll take a peak at it.

Let me know how it turns out!

As for the DRL's let me know what you come up with, I still haven't done anything about mine.

Congrats! I'm hoping to import an 08 G37 when it comes out.. I was at a dilemma over that or an 07 G35, but I figured it was worth the wait.

Any pics of DRL's running?

Here's some pics.

1. At the dealership, the night before I bought the car.
2. Sitting at a rest stop on the way home, letting the car cool down.
3. Finally home, a nice shot from the garage.

Note the Evo VIII sitting behind my car in pic 1. That thing had a mean exhaust on it, I was considering asking them for a test drive.
