Installing Question
Is it easy to replace rotors and brake pads?
I have one place that is charging me for $350.... installing 4 rotors and brake pads... the dealer asks for $480..... but i have a friend who is willing to do it for $100.......the only reason that is holding me back to do it with my friend ..... he never had a g35 in his shop before. If its an easy task... then i'm sure he can do it but... if its hard... i'd rather go do it at the dealer..... i don't know~ help |
if your buddy knows what's he's doing, it should not be all that hard.

It's not hard -- provided you've done it b4 (on any car).....
About a 5 on a 10 scale.....:) If your friend knows his way around a shop and a tool box, he should be fine...... Be safe.... (when jacking) :) C. |
If you know what you're doing it is quite easy. Only trick on my rear rotor was removing one of the caliper bolts but otherwise easy. After I was done though I did pop into Oakville Infiniti and they suggested a brake service. Only $80 and that way I know a professional has checked my work and should be good to go.
I have a special tool for popping the rotor off, if it's seized on. I'll share it since we are all G brother's here ... take a 2x4 about 2 foot long and tap the rotor and it will just pop off.:) |
lol i like your special tool
