Toyota - even more bad news
Is it just me? It seems like someone is really out to get them. Talk about being under a microscope.
"He didn't disclose model years or regions that could be affected and said there have been fewer than 100 complaints. Toyota sold nearly 1.3 million Corolla cars worldwide last year."

Toyota has become a political target, what with Obama being the major stakeholder/creditor for GM.
Besides, any else notice the the recalls are for cars or parts made in North America? Which brings me to the part about the gas pedals. The ones affected are made by a company in Indiana (CTS Corp). The japanese pedals are not affected. Conspiracy?
Makes me wonder.

Does Canada have a reason to sabotage Toyota?
Someone is out to get Toyota. Or rather select groups. Our governments.
Every newer Toyota owner I have spoken with about recent events still has an unwaivered opinion about their vehicles. They still love them. If anything, it has made them more loyal to the Toyota badge. They feel as if everyone is attempting to alienate one of the best auto manufacturers on the planet, though I'm sure Toyota owners arent the only ones.

That tends to happen when defects on your vehicles lead to multiple deaths and you try to cover it up...

I thought the faulty pedal parts where actually made in Mississauga

^ you are correct. I misread your post to say 'the parts where made in Indiana'. You where actually saying CTS (head office) is in Indiana which is correct but the parts in question are made in Mississauga.
Regardless, Toyota has let a few major things slip and the other car lobbiests and media will spin them right into the ground if they are not more careful.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Really makes you think...either Canadians/Americans seriously suck at building cars/parts, or something else is going on.

^ I wouldn't say we suck at building cars/parts. Over the past century, we have manufactured billions of parts and have very little failure, all things considered.
I would say we have a problem with quality control when compared to the Japanese but better when compared to some European manufacturers.

As sad as it is to see things like that happen, all of the incidents I have seen/researched with Toyota cars involve driver fault. Whether or not the vehicles grew horns and took control from the driver I cannot speculate.
