Exhaust advice ......

I'm looking for some input from you guys on here regarding aftermarket exhaust for the G.

I currently have a stock exhaust setup with Magnaflow mufflers the sound is OK but not much more noticeable than stock, does anyone on here have Magnaflow mufflers with maybe a resonator delete just wondering how the sound is? even if you have a similar setup I'd like to know how the sound is in terms of loudness and/or rasp if any.

I know this is not the preferred setup most of you would choose but I may still be selling my car so no use spending a grand plus only to sell it. I still have another completely stock exhaust sitting in my shed in case a potential buyer doesn't care for the louder sound.

Lastly I went to the local Muffler Man whom I've been to before, he quoted me $300. to remove the resonators, I think it's a bit pricey considering he's only replacing it with a couple feet of pipe. If anyone knows of a reputable shop in the KW area it would be mice to get another quote.
:hello:

If you want more sound replace those factory cats with HFCs and find a new muffler guy that works at a more reasonable rate! Paying $300 to replace your resonators is way beyond reasonable...Gary

Magnaflow with resonator delete, ztube and k&n. It actually sounds a bit different now cuz I have a 5/16 spacer. Sounds a lot smoother now.

This is a cold start and that rasp is near 6k. Rasp goes away when warm and under load.

@ScraggleRock Things are a bit different for an 08' I had an 04' Sedan 6spd it had full exhaust incl headders and HFC, it sounded great except for the slight rasp at around 5000 rpm, I brought that car to the same shop and he put a magnaflow resonator on it ($240) it sound amazing. Unless I can find a pair of HFC for $300 or less I won't be going that route because of the statement I mentioned .

So you're saying it's a great deal @ 300 bucks?

Oh, I didn't realize you had the HR.

But no, $300 is a rip off. All they'd be doing is cutting out the res, and welding a straight pipe of equal length in its place. I got the muffler, res delete and my stock tips put on the magnaflow for $319 otd. Res delete should cost $80-100
