so sad.
a quote from one of the articles summed it up best:
“It’s crazy, it didn’t used to be like this,” he said, surveying the littered street. “Guys would drink and have fun, sure, but they wouldn’t destroy stuff. Kids are growing up differently now, attitudes are different now, and it’s sad...
These kids, they figure they can do what they want and their mothers and fathers will pay for it.”

these are the times it makes me glad i went to western ;)

Sad to say, but that's not as bad as what happened at Bishops.
One kid died jumping off a bridge into shallow stream

Yet another example of some youngsters who are out of control, and others whom are easily coerced into hijinx.

Their parents need to step in and stop coddling them to encourage them to understand that they will be held accountable for their actions.

Indeed the parents should have stepped in long ago when these 'kids' were much more impressionable.

I firmly believe now that most youngsters are adult and responsible about their lives, but there is a faction out there who instigate, know nothing of civility, and need to be dealt with harshly.

It worked for my generation.

My $.03!

Unfortunately this is not uncommon for adolescents to do things without a connection to consequence. We call it a disconnection in the brain -- which is a documented and much researched topic. Mind you.. it annoys our kids when we tell them that their brains are being re-wired. :)

You are correct in saying that the parents should play a key role in helping them realise consequence of their actions.
