New to Car Pc's
I recently bought a 03 G35 sedan and am trying to put a car pc in, i want to take out the stock radio and put a touchscreen in its place, is this possible and if it is what would i need to do it, i want to stick to the micro atx computer in the upper glove compartment.

Yup its possible, CarPC was the first thing I did when I bought my G.
I'm sure there are other ways, but these are my favorite options for screen mounting in the G35 (in no particular order): 1) Buy a manual pop-out screen housing from God_Of_CPU (at MP3Car.com)... it fits where your cubby is if you don’t have GPS. I did this and plan on installing a second screen in the double DIN as well. 2) Fabricate a bracket to hold the screen in the opening of JDM double DIN dash piece. Take your pick Metra or OEM... but if you have the $$ definitely buy the OEM. 3) If the screen is too big for the dash however, you might need to cut up the double din and bondo/body filler it in place. i will probably go with the second or third option, is there any problem hooking up the bose speakers to a non bose head unit?

Check this out: https://g35driver.com/forums/audio-v...rams-pics.html I am running my system without a head unit. I use a 4 channel amp to power my speakers and then use a 1/8" minijack (headphone) to RCA adaptor to plug into the amp from the PC soundcard... It's nice because you dont have to get fancy when trying to relocate the headunit where your screen now is, assuming you do mount the screen in the double din. What if you have navigation? |
