Re: CG everytime i wash?

Not necessary at all... I CG every month or so, which is way more often than is recommended. Under normal circumstances, you could clean it a dozen times before reapplying CG.

i do it every 2 weeks LOL...
Its supposed to last 4-6 months, depending on how much you wash your car of course. Every 2 months is good in my mind.

I do it every 2 weeks just because I CAN!

CG = Crystal Guard

The sponsored link to the above left....

It is a wax substitute that works awsome instead of a wax that wears of easy and is a dirt magnet, CG is like a glass layer that gets bonded to the paint, Its really nice!

How long does it take a shop to apply it, and is the cost reasonable?. My Black G has tons of swirls on it from the complementary washes at the Dealer.

for those who CG or Zaino frequently, do you keep your car garaged or exposed?

it's so easy to put on yourself. and i don't think i'd want anyone else putting it on for me. this forum has a lot of good tips on how to do it too. haha rambo (i think you gave this advice), i do wring out my CG/water-damp microfiber onto my hood and trunk now. makes me feel like i'm using the CG for all its worth. Re: CG everytime i wash?

Sometimes it makes me wonder, if CG is so good, why are there people who still use 10 different kinds of Zaino that takes a day and a half to apply?

are they just like the stubborn grandparents who don't believe in computers or microwaves?

Re: CG everytime i wash?

my understanding is that CG is for those who don't have time to zaino? and those that do have time, zaino? *shrugs*

Re: CG everytime i wash?

g35girl: good Q, but i dont have a sunroof.... rich people! When i ordered the car i did not think i could afford the extra $1000.... (took 6 months to get the car - long wait lis) sometimes i wish i had a sunroof, but you know, sometimes i am glad i didnt get one, like when i apply CG its so much easier As you said, it is more preferable to use RainX on windows. CG doesnt seem to bond too well with windows, and doesnt give that full rainX effect.

Fluffy: hmm, you pose a good question. The answer that i like to give to that... Zaino is tried and true, meaning its been tested and tested and tested, and always comes out in 1st place. But the thing is, its never been tested side-by-side with CG, since it is such a new product on the market.

So it is all a matter of reputation in my mind. Either go with whats been proven to work and last for 4 months. Or go with the newer technology product that still is not quite 100% proven.

No question in my mind....CG all the way!

Now to get back on topic, I actually DO recommend that you CG-quick your car everytime you wash. I have 5 coats on mine now in 2 months.
Its been raining the past couple of days and well, CG is a beautiful thing. My car is super clean. The only other secret to keeping it this shiny and clean is to dry off the non-aerodynamic areas of the car with a MF or beach towel after driving, such as the trunk and rear bumper. you do not have to dry the rest of the car. It will not spot
