Costco MF's ...

Seriously, what do you guys think about MF (20 pack for $9.95) from Costco? I have been using them so far. Being careful to cut out the label, I haven't seen anything harmful on my 2 month G35 - Zaino'ed w/ Z2, Z5 capped it w/ Z8.

I use special smaller fiber MF's for glass (not Costco). I do like the super small fiber vRoom MF.

Or, should I just ditch the Costco's and buy from some of the reputable outlets such as Autopia?

I highly recommend the MicroFiber towels from PakShak (www.pakshak.com). Talk to Ranney and he will take good care of you.

I have some of the costco MFs but I only use them to do the dirty work, like wiping down the rims, or wiping up excess tire gel that gets on the rims, or bird poop on the glass, etc.

There is no comparison between them and the towels you can get at PakShak.

The Costco towels are great. I've had mine for a couple years and no issues with them. You can't beat the price/quality ratio. They are truely amazing.

I use Costco here as well. Use them for pretty much everything from wheels to detailing. I like them.

Due to the great price, I have 3 bags (which is 60 towels). However, I am careful. I use and separate MF's used only for wheels and underbody. I wash them and store them separately from the MF's used topside. Those are washed separately. Then I have a set strictly for glass. Washed and stored separately in a gallon baggie. So no contamination between wheels/underbody, main body and glass. I figure good technique is just as important as using good product.

Thanks for the tip. I checked out the site. They look like they carry great products. I am particular, very picky... but at the same time, the Costco MF's are a value too hard to turn down. However I am keeping a very close eye on the Costco product.

I use them also for detailing with zaino, no complaints

costco towels are good for doing interior cleaning and also applying
dressing, cleaning windows. i use Griots and Detailersparadise MonsterFluffy
for paint.

i only use the costco mf for windows and interior nothing on the paint...because the edges could scratch the paint..

MF towels are manufactured inconsistently. !00% American cotton towels only for me.
Martha Stewart's towels are recomended by Zaino dealers.

Becoming more cautious and suspicious with Costco MF's, I have decided to do a CD test.

I bought a set of vRoom MF's ( detail, wax removal/buffing & polish-super small MF). I am going to run a test with the Costco and vroom MF's and see what happens. I will post pictures if I see anything dramatic.

I did wash my car and re-Zaino'ed w/ Z5(ZRX), Z6, but this time I used the vRoom MF's from Target. My gut reaction was that the vRoom's seemed a lot better, albeit not a scientific response.

BTW, I have NOT experienced the stiffness others have mentioned about the Costco MF's after washing. I wash with simple green in warm water. And I don't put them in the dryer which is bad.

costco towels are great ... i usually toss em after 2-3 times of use cuz they're so cheap

yeah i use high quality cotton bath towels for the paint too..

I use the Costco MFs on the wheels and engine bay and use Poorboy's / Pak Shak / etc. on the paint.
