Thinking About Getting a Porter Cable...Need Help!
I am thinking about getting a porter cable to do my own detailing because I have bad swirl marks. I want to use Z-PC. Ok here are my questions: 1. What is the difference between the PC and a rotary buffer? (I saw a video and it looked the same, except size) 2. Is there any way to cause any marring or any type of damage to my paint using the PC and abrasive zaino stuff? I dont want to make anything worse at all or I wont do it. 3. Can I use the PC to apply ordinary carnuba wax? Is there any that is recommended by hand over the PC? Thanks in advance! http://images.amazon.com/images/P/B0...CLZZZZZZZ_.jpg |

a PC will make applying regular wax much faster.
it is also key for removing swirls |
Thanks guys! |
My next purchase...............
I've been getting the Griot's catalog for a while now
and I really like the look of there merchandise. They offer the complete kit from clay, buffer, cleaners, waxes, instruction book and a DVD for $199. This will be my next purchase.........give them a call! |
What is the difference between the pc7336 and the pc7424?? The pc7336 seems to be quite a bit cheaper. (Like $80 new on ebay). |

www.autopia.org www.autogeek.net like superchargedg says got to these sites and start reading the details. the pc 7424 is a very effective polisher and it wont burn the paint. Make sure you get good polishing pads for your swirl removal. |
The Porter Cable is great for detailing a car.I have had mine for about 6-7 years now.Well worth the expense.Saves alot of time.Just make sure to get the correct pads. One for polishing,One for finishing pad.

I just use the 6" pads from Griots and do the smaller areas by hand. |
Check out the forums on www.meguiars.com
There is an entire section devoted to this and some really good DIY pics and videos. |
i was thinlin about gettin a PC myslef, im just hesitant about the whole process...the swirls on my G havent dissappeared by hnad so my only option is to get a PC. Post your progress if you do get 1.

Just bought my new porter cable on ebay! Now I need some pads and polish. I want to get a velcro backing plate. Can anyone suggestion a good accessory kit for removing swirls, etc? How is the sonus kit on autopia.org? Is that polish to ruff on the paint?
