Anyone else tried deionized water yet?
 

I posted about this in the Florida section, but I'm now using deionized water for all my details and the stuff is INCREDIBLE. Everything looks better! I know it seems crazy, but it makes a huge difference.

You can actually make your own through home depot materials. It has been on my to do list for over a year but I never got to it. and I may never get to it :(

I've seen crspotless.com's system at work and it is good. saves a lot of time in areas with too much mineral deposit.

Do you have a materials list and instructions?

I have been using water from my water softener which helps but I still get spots like crazy. Phoenix water is a pain.

The softener isn't the same that's why you still get the spotting. Its not removing all the disolved minerals. I don't know anything about the DIY filter system - I'd just get the real deal and enjoy the results.

Yes, the output is the same in both units. I think they have a section for use with pressure washers in their FAQ section. You can see them using the larger version with a pressure washer in one of the video's too.

Does this thing really make it so you don't have to dry your car. Even a black one?

If you were in Florida I might be able to help you out - sorry. Even a black car, wash and walk away = yes.

It helps of course if you have a decent coat of wax on the car AND you need to wash all the dirt off by hand first. I typically wash the cars and then dry them with a leaf blower - you don't even need to touch the car if you do it right.

Wow, I just saw the video on their site of him washing the black MB. I think one of these will be my next purchase. I always keep a few coats of Zaino on the car so if this works as well as you say and the video shows I'm in!

Do you think the smaller ones are enough for home use?

Well I use the smaller one for my detailing business b/c its easier to transport. Remember its just for a final rinse down of the car - by my count at least 15-20 washes depending on incoming water quality. The larger unit would be good for 3 times as many since it filters 300g v. 100g. You can buy 2-3 of the replacement resins and that will get you 200-300 gallons in the smaller package for about the same price.

Its a matter of how much space you have and convenience, but changing the resin isn't all that hard.
