Brake dust won't come off rim

Hello,

I recently purchased a '05 sedan with sports package. The 18" rims were covered with brake dust when I bought the car. I washed the car today and washed the rims with car wash soap and water. The brake dust on the rims are etched into the rim and will not come off.

What is a good harmless product I could use to make the rims nice and shiny? Also, there are some paint chip marks on the rim (Could see black marks on rim, I assume from the curb). Is there any touch up paint I can use to cover this area?

I would appreciate any of your opinions. Thanks.

I've used Turtle Wax bug & tar remover at times to get the dust off...works pretty well. Sometimes if the dust is baked on there from the heat, it's really difficult to get off. Walmart also sells a citrus orange spray cleaner for wheels.

Try using a Mr. Clean magic eraser.

Try a light polish, like 3M perfect-it, Sonus SFX-2, etc, etc.

If you have questions on where to buy PM me.

Use eagle one all wheel cleaner, its safe on all factory coated wheels, and is likely the only thing thats going to remove some of that imbedded brake dust. Follow up with some aggressive claying and a polish

You might want to give P21s Wheel Cleaner. Its a gel and you can leave it on your rims for it to work.
