Detailed my girlfrend's car
This used to be my car before I got the G, now my girlfreind drives it. It was in pretty bad shape. After a wash it would still look dirty when the sun hit it because of all the swirls.

I had so much of it. It got everywhere, into every little crack and it just makes a big mess. Is there a easy way to get rid of it? Do you guys wipe it off as you go, or just way until the end? I've found some white little specs on my G too, I'm suspecting its polish dust that has sealant over it. Its pretty hard to get off using just a towel. :confused2: |
What products did you use on the car?
Some polishes tend to dust more than others once they have broken down. Did you work indoors or in the sun? The sun will prematurely break down the polish due to the excessive heat. If you are working in the sunlight, I would stick with a polish that tends to take awhile to "break down". (Optimum products are such). Also, work in small areas...2X2 or even 1X1 at one time. |
I've used pinnacle XMT polishes. It was a cloudy day around 74F. Most of the time I was in the garage too because it started to rain.
I did small areas at a time too, but I mean pretty much the whole car was covered in polish dust. |

^ do you wipe it down as you go? Or when you are totally done with polishing.
I've been meaning to get some Poorboy's S&W too. It will be great for winter. Thank you. |
Here is a link to using Pinnacle XMT and a PC...

after every panel i use QD (Megs, or Poorboys). Also spray one or two sprays on the pad before the polish. To avoid getting it all over the place use blue tape on the emblems and cracks. GL
