Re: Zaino...why so many haters??

Great thread,

I have been using the Meguiar's 3 step process but now I'm going to order the Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze and then top it off with the Pinnacle Souveran paste. Does this sound about right?

Just got the G! :-)~

JeremyB

That combo should work fine, just make sure you give SG 24 hours to cure if you're going to layer it.

no s100 fans here? wow. i just went and purchased some myself, and with a combo of zaino and s100, believe me, it's amazing. much happier than the results i got with just zaino on the maxima.

actually,
i've tried that combo before, and i thought it was great since it attracted much less dust.

Not a skeptic - I'm sure it does what it's supposed to. But, for me it's way too much work.

I tried Klasse All In One this week and love it - in an hour and a half I washed and waxed the car. And the shine is to die for. I'm going to order some sealant and try that. Even still, 1 coat of AIO and I'm getting an awesome shine!

Re: Zaino...why so many haters??

So now we've seen folks on NSX and BMW forums who started with a different bias and both concluded Zaino outperformed the other products tested both immediately and over the long term. What I find most interesting, is that in both cases, they did not follow the recommended directions, and in one case, didn't finish the job (Z5 is not a finisher). And yet despite this fact, the testers were able to achieve results superior to those they expected to shine (pardon the pun). I wonder what would have been found were they to actually go thru the effort to follow the directions: Dawn, clay bar, Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6 for example- and if that sounds complex or time consuming, it is no more so than any other readily available wax system i.e. Mothers or Maguires. In fact less effort, given that there is no buffing involved-just wiping.
Anyone have a bent hood lying around. I'd be interested to see Z and CG vs NXT and any other synthetics that others might suggest. BTW, despite the fact that neither were "scientific", the BMW folks seemed to put more effort in avoiding bias in determining their results.

" Dawn, clay bar, Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6 for example" I think you missed a few things...

More like Dawn/Dry, clay bar, Z7/dry, Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6. I did the 2001 Sequoia on Friday for the first time ever. I also vacuumed the interior and treated the leather everywhere. I cleaned the windows inside and out... It took 8 hours!!! That's right. I've done the whole vehicle before in 4 hours using turtle wax paste instead of all of the Zaino steps. Did the job turn out as good YES. Did it last for more than 2 weeks NO. Am I glad I did the Zaino on the Sequoia YES. Am I still sore 2 days later HECK YEAH!
