Should I expect better gas mileage by replacing this?

So yesterday you all saw my filthy cabin filter...well today I replaced my stock air filter and intake tube with a K&N and a Z-tube. I don't think the previous owner changed it once. My car only has 35K miles.

naughty240 05-16-2008 08:09 PM

Damn thats insane. Makes you wonder how often they changed their oil.

Beebo 05-16-2008 09:33 PM

you will see slightly better gas milage maybe 1-2 mpg only if you get a tune...

Mr Inkredibul 05-16-2008 10:08 PM

i should get a tune? How come? Shouldn't I get better gas mileage with a clean air filter?

Mr Inkredibul 05-17-2008 10:06 PM

i thought it was in cleaning...since I cleaned my air filter lol but you're right.

Dakkerz 05-17-2008 10:15 PM

Wow yeah that's pretty dirty. How often do you inspect it?

officerdbag 05-17-2008 11:49 PM

Wow, mine is still all red and I think mine is filthy lol.

You will see better MPG.. You don't need a get a tune over a z tube.

I haven't even owned the car for 2500 miles so this is my first time inspecting it.
