I am surprised to hear to many ppl use 303 Aerospace for Interior Protectant... I gotta try that sometime! I used to use Leatherique for leather and interior but Leatherique
is pretty expensive and hard to find so I'll try 303 Aerospace next time.

Started using the SIG after yours and other recommendations and I like it so far. Have you guys taken a stab at using the Glass Science products? A friend of mine works at O'Reilly's and they carry the Glass Science products along with the typical Rain-X. Wanted to see other's opinions on them before I spend the money on all three (Glass Scrub, Rain Clear, and Fog Clear) products.

I just used Leatherique on my interior this past weekend and has tremendous results! Loved every second of it and the process was rather quick and easy (besides the 24 hour waiting period). You can check out the pics and a full review here:

Got a 07 G35 and want to detail the car next week, searched some thread about what products to use, here is what i will be buying (thanks to this thread)

Car wash –Poorboys Super Slick & Suds or Meguiar's G7164 Gold Class
Clay bar – Clay Magic or Mother’s

Glaze - Meguiar's M-0716 Mirror Glaze #7
Sealant – Jetseal 109
Wax – Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0
Wheel sealant – Jeatseal 109 or wheel wax
Interior protectant – Aerospace 303 protectant

I have some questions:

1) wax then sealant or sealant then wax? I think wax then sealant right?
2) never tried clay bar - is it difficult?
3) compound is same as clay bar?
4) for polish - can I just use soft pads with liquid polish (such as Meguiar's M20532 Ultra Finishing Polish or Pinnacle XMT) or I need to use machine buffer (which I am afraid to try on this car)
5) liquid wax or paste wax?

Sorry for some dumb questions, just never really into detailing...

1) Sealant first, then wax about 24 hours later (to give the sealant time to "cure").

2) Claying is easy. There are how-to videos all over YouTube. Here's one from Meguiar's, for example:
3) Compounding is not the same as claying. Clay bars are used to remove residual surface contamination (such as tar, sap, some paint overspray, etc.) after a wash.

Compounding is what you do to remove imperfections in the paint (such as scratches, swirls, holograms, etc.). The word "compounding" is basically synonymous with the word "polishing." You use compounds/polishes (which contain varying degrees of micro-abrasives) to level out and remove extremely thin layers of your clear coat/paint...which, if done correctly, will leave you with a blemish free, mirror like finish.

Note, compounds are generally thought of as more abrasive than polishes.

4) You can definitely polish by hand; though, I wouldn't recommend it. If you decide to polish by hand, make sure you get a handful of quality microfiber or foam applicators. Personally, I mainly use my Porter Cable 7424XP random orbital buffer (in combination with the appropriate pad and compound/polish for the job). Sometimes, I'll use my Makita 9227C-X3 rotary buffer (again, in combination with the appropriate pad and compound/polish for the job).

5) There's not exactly a right or wrong answer here. Not all waxes are created equal, but it kind of comes down to your preference. I prefer carnuba wax pastes.
