Let's Talk Interior

Who else enjoys cleaning their interior?

The products i use are a Ultimate Quick detailer for the door sills, Meguiers Quick Interior Detailer for the panels/dash/ect, Poorboys Leather Stuff for the leather, and my Ridgid vaccum for the floor.

Im obsessive when it comes to my interior. I vaccum it atleast twice a week, same with the quick interior detailer, and i clean the leather every couple weeks.

I just... love my interior haha

Stone is my favorite color combo. I sit in my car and just admire it after i clean it.

I think i have a problem. :bowrofl:

How about you guys?

Yeah I myself use to clean to keep clean my G by cleaning the interior with a steamer and protecting it with 303 AP.

I have some 303 AP but i have not used it yet on my interior.

I like the quick interior detail because it just gives it a clean, new, matte finish look almost.

I dont like it when it is super shiney and greasy like with armorall lol

you'll like the 303 then, it leaves a pretty matte finish, i like it better than meg's interior detail.

I'll give it a shot tomorrow then.

I had just been using it for weather striping and under the hood.

I'll be the first to admit I hate cleaning the interior of my vehicle. I have an 03 coupe and the interior is ugly and their is not much pride looking at the finished results because well; it only looks clean. I like cleaning my seats at least....

My process is:

Seats: Apply Lexol Conditioner -> Steam Seats, wipe off
Lexol Cleaner (I use 303 Aerospace for in between details)

Floor: Pressure wash rubber floormats
Vacumning any debris on carpet
Generic carpet cleaner on car pet floor mats and carpet followed by steaming, then powervacing any solution left

Dash: Microfiber dash wipedown
303 Aerospace Protectant/Meguiars Quik Interior Detailer

Air: Febreeze for Car

That is all I pretty much do but my interior is usually clean so I only do this twice a year. Most I do is wipe down the dash and vacumn the floor every month.

TheTick Oct 12, 2008 05:59 PM

how do you steam the seats? Also, do you do it before the cleaner?

JOKER Oct 12, 2008 06:04 PM

Not once I detailed my interior

Only leather seats with leather cleaner and that it

Everything else I "detail" with wet mf towel.

Usually vacuum once or twice a month, more often during winter cuz more dirt and leafs get in the car.

I HATE CLEANING THE INTERIORbut I do do it once a week.

I MF towel the dash and center console and I have a small brush to clean all the little gaps in the dash...I hate dust!

I don't use any products on the dash because I never found anything I liked.

I clean the door panels and sills and seats with armour all cleaning wipes and I also use Meguiars leather care.

I've got a good case of OCD when it comes to my interior......and the exterior for that matter. I vacuum my car at least once a week and I'm a huge fan of 303 Aerospace.

You'll love the 303 Janik, especially if you love the matte look. I personally wouldn't use anything else.

You'r interior is mint, Shane.

What do you use on the leather?

I have one of those craptacular steam machines from Cambodian Tire which I cover one of the carpet applicator pads with a MF towel and I quickly do a run over the seats. I actually apply the cleaner and then steam the seats. I then rub it in and wipe off. Some people use a solution in their steamer when they steam their seats. A steamer on our seats is not really necessary as it does not open any pores in the leather or anything (our leather is plastic coated) but I find it speeds up the cleaning process.

Shane's interior is mint, if only mine was worth cleaning like that; haha.

I myself use a triangular brush with a MF wrap around it with my steam cleaner. First I spray the seat with my 10:1 of APC onto the leather and then go over the surface with the triangular brush and mf and wipe the surface with it. I change the mf side and move onto another side after each part of the seat.

After im done. I apply a thin layer of 303 AP.
