I went to the gas station to get a drink and kill some time and i see these shady sales men lurching around the entrance. instinctively i try to avoid them on the walk in but i get a "hey that’s a nice car!" Obviously i was flattered so i say thanks and went in and got my drink.

On the way out i tried to become invisible (didn't work) to avoid an under average sales pitch. So i pretended to be reading a very important email (wording it out with my mouth) doesn't even stall the salesmen.

So he comes after me and is asking me about my car and try’s to explain what he is selling. I tell him that i am very particular about my car and i usually don't let strange people touch it... but he was persistent so i let him spray my lower front bumper. than he sprays my wheels and then my window.

He wipes all this off and to my surprise it wasn't bad. i was really impressed with the wheel aspect because it had an agent that rejected brake dust...(i know i am a sucker)... any how the moral of the story is the product is called fw1 formula cleaner (or something like that)...

Has anyone used this product?

Is it safe for my car/wheels?

Did I get scammed? (it cost $10)

Who else gave in to the door to door vacuum sales pitch?

i would be wary of spraying stuff on my wheels. there's a lot of harmful products out there esp on aftermarket rims.

I was showing off my new G35 to my brother-in-law on the weekend, and he says he has this fantastic stuff that he uses on his car. I think it's the stuff you got. His car looks great and the paint is as smooth as glass. I haven't tried it yet, but he said he uses it on the car, the tires, the windows, and loves it.

I just found it here; they want $19.99 for a can.

I recently did all the Meguiar's steps freom clay baring it to waxing and sealing it and everything it included. Now when I wash it I do a regular wash, rain x all the outter glass and lights, use nothing but gold ole soap and water on the wheels. (after almost having a heart attack when i tried this brake dust repellent thing called hot wheels that I got at auto zone) I then use the Liquid ice to finish off the car, and the gel for the black rubber shine on the wheels.

Yeah i figured this was a hoax but i tried it on the wheels and it did okay... until rots them away!

Lets face it i've been had... ah well!

So, where was this gas station so I can avoid it?

Are you saying the stuff is crap, or just didn't work well on the wheels, or what?

I checked the can I got at home and it's a little different than the one I linked to above. Same company, but the can says "cleaner wax" on it.

I use Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax 2.0 and like it a lot; don't really have any use for this FW1 stuff, but like I said, my brother-in-law handed it to me and was telling me how great it is. I've never seen it anywhere and have no idea where he got it.
