Winter G's... how do you stay clean?
 

Well this is my first winter with the G, it's been equipped with brand new yokohama snow tires and performing like a champ.

The only thing is I can't keep my damn car clean! I've been handwashing it once or twice a week only to watch it get super dirty 2 days later. Now it's gotten so cold that I can't be outside for more than a few minutes without getting my hands numb.

I go to the car wash and use the self serve power washer... but my car is still dirty.. how are you guys staying clean?

I'm debating about going through the automatic car wash, unless someone talks me out of it. :5091:

Optimum No Rinse (ONR)! It works great, you can use warm water, wash inside (garage), you don't get soaked :D.

For it to be effective though, you MUST have your paint sealed with something like Zaino or FMJ.

Its a challenge to keep a car clean in the "snow belt". It isn't as much the snow as it is all the crap they put on the roads to keep it from freezing up...Salt/sand/slag etc.

I try my best to keep my car as clean as possible....but in the sub teen weather I just let it stay that way....If its a tad above 32 degrees, I will take out the buckets and go to town.

Wait until the day hits the high temp...example 38 degrees. Use a pair of rubber lined gloves, you can find them at home depot or lowes......Use a bucket of warm water w/soap and use a bucket of hot water to rinse your sponge/mitt.....

I use to wash my car every weekend when it wasn't garaged....if it was above 32...it was cleaned every week.

Same here... it's just that for the past week it's been soooo cold. When I hose it down I don't even have time to dry off the car before the water starts freezing.

And yes, I have no garage as well :(

I am patiently waiting for it to become a little warmer, but I've been desperate enough to be considering the automatic car wash..
Guess I'll just keep waiting it out.

But really like people said above i go and wash (at least spray off) my car whenever it gets warm enough to not freeze instantly. sadly that is from one weekend trip

Great for washing or hosing off salt on those 35 degree days.

2 Very easy words. I don't. I deal with her being dirty. Wash her whenever it's warm out but it doesn't even last one mile.
