Tire Shine.. alternatives?? I've used the spray...

Hey guys, I've used the black magic tire shine and all that, the other day I went to the dealership and they shined up my tires nicely...

Anyways, more out of curiousity than anything: is there a HOMEMADE way to shine tires?

Thanks in advance

Zainos "Perfect Tire Gloss" gets my vote.

Ive used Black Magic, Eagle One, foam sprays etc...and have chosen to stick with Zainos for a few reasons:
-Absolutely NO tire sling. Put it on and drive away. No need to wait for it to dry. If you like the wetter look, two coats is recommended
-Lasts past a few washes. I wash my car weekly and only apply it once for every 2 or 3 washes.
-Does not leave ANY build up what so ever. Gives the tire a nice dark black shiny sheen. like from "the dealer".

When I use to use the "other stuff" I would eventually have to scrub down the brown road grime build up that wetter products would pick up.

Can you tell im a fan?

I got the Zaino tire gloss as well. It is not the shiniest but doesn't sling at all. After a week or two, the finish dulls though.

Gel products are harder to find, at least in normal auto parts stores, but they last much longer than spray products.

Re: Tire Shine.. alternatives?? I've used the spra

I have been using Meguire's Hot shine aerosol spray with no sling whatsoever. Also, the stuff evaporates before it hits your car so it does not get on your car if you misspray. It is very shiny.

I do wash my car once per week and I do notice that the tire walls have lots of grime on them that has to be wiped off. The shine lasts the full week and only takes seconds to apply. The shine does last through a couple car washes, but not as shiny as when first applied. The can lasts a long time....more than 10 uses.

Make sure it is the aerosol can, not the normal spray

I used Lexol Vinylex on the tires this last time. It gives good protection and more of a satin look then a deep gloss shine. I prefer it rather then some tire shine products that just wash off in a week or so. Plus it is not all oily which attracts dust.
