Best way to clean up vomit - it's in the seats!!!
I threw up in my g this past weekend and I'm having a little trouble cleaning it all up. The smell and everything is out of the dash and carpet, but it's not coming out of the seat. It's like stuck inbetween the little holes that are in the leather seats (disgusting). Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean that out?
My friends say to get it professional done, but one of my buddies threw up in his sl500 a few weeks ago and had it cleaned immediately the next day and the smell still isn't out. fyi - I wasn't driving nor do I remember any of this. Nate |
usually frebreze is good but i dont know about the seat, since its leather. If was you I would get it done professionally.
And stop drinking more than what you can take!!! |
if it was cloth seats, then pro detailers can use their hot water extractors clean it up....however, since your stuff soaked into the inside foam, the only way to completely remove the smell is to take apart the leather and either clean the foam underneath or just replace it.

Yeah I'm taking it in today to the dealership to see what they can do. If they are going to charge an arm and a leg I know CarMax will prep your car like they were going to sell it for like $150 - I assume this would include getting any smells out.
I used febreeze on it last night - said kills 99.9% of oders, well evidently vomit is part of the .1% that it doesn't cover. I probably would have thrown up out the window, but my friends locked me in the car w/o the keys so they could go run and get maxwell street (food), I guess when they came back after a few minutes of being gone i had thrown up (oops). I'm never drinking 9 and a half martini's again! Nate |
I had a similar accident in my car (spare you the details). I let it dry in the 100 degree summer heat. Then I used a powerful wet/dry vac to suck up the debris. My seat vent holes where all plugged up so I had to smack the seat with the nozzle many times but it eventually all got sucked up. Followed up with Febreeze as mentioned. No trace of my mistake.
Give it a try. |
