What's the best towel to use when drying your car?

microfiber or a chamois?

big blue 2 waffle weave is the best dry towel i have ever used.

I use both the waffle weave drying towel and the microfiber chamois. both are very good but overall the waffle weave holds more water so I'd have to give that the nod as the better product. Honestly my favorite thing to do is to take the chamois and push most of the water of the car with it's edge and then go back with the waffle weave and get the left over water.

I've been using The Absorber to dry my car's for 8 years now. I have used microfiber and cotton towels as well but they don't soak up the same amount of water as The Absorber can. It's very soft as well and won't scratch the paint.

they make varios chamios out there. ive been detailing cars for 17 years, and the chamios have different purposes. if you want maximun water soaking, get one designed to, the one i love is (manufactuer unknown, but has lasted for 14 years, yes the same one.) one that was designed to lift dirt off as it cleaned. requires lots of rinsing in a clean bucket, but nothing works better for drying and getting that last bit of film off the car. try and try again, till you find one that works for you. you could always step up and buy yourself a ultra powerful leaf blower and blow the water off!!!!
clears away the water, and doesnt scratch the finish! hehehehhehe

Leaf blower, then big blue, then waffle weave.

For me I take the nozzle off the water hose and let the free flow of water soak the car as a final rinse. I noticed the water sheets off more....I then use the california water blade to get most of it off.....then for the side mirrors i uses the leaf blower......then follow up with the absorber towel...$5 at wal-mart.....make sure you rinse and wring out the towel after every section so you wont have particles that might scratch the car.....

I have been using the absorber followed by a microfiber towel. This combo seems to work quite well.

2 microfiber waffle weave towels. the big blue 2 definitely is a nice towel. I've dried an entire expedition with only needing to wring it out once. as for the suggestion made by infinite1, you really should "water down" your car. smooth flow of water will sheet off more water and lessen your drying time at least by 1/2. w/ a really nice sealant/wax on it the water will come right off. i can wash/dry my car in about 30 min, at most 40 min.

Wow . . . you are very quick. It takes me a minimum of 30 minutes just to simply wash my car. Must be my old tired joints. ;)
