Tint

I'm getting my windows tinted on Saturday.

Have been debating on getting:
35% all the way around
20%/50%
35%/50%

Was wondering what others had and their feedback. Its illegal in CA to tint the front sides so I was thinking of just doing 50% fronts but the guy I talked to at the shop said it wouldn't matter if you have it, you have it and 35% all the way would look the best. I just felt that the lighter it was the less noticable. Right now I'm leaning towards 20%/50%.

I went with 35% all the way around, but in NC you can tint the front sides. If you don't want anything too dark, you can go with the metallic tint. But check out a professional tint place and they should have some samples. The metallic tint I'm talking about looks nice and is not mirrored to look 'ghetto.' You can also take a look at mine.

Tim,
I got mine tinted 52% all the way around even on the winshield.

It doesn't sound dark, but its pretty dark compared too the 42% they had their. I haven't had a chance to take a pic of it because its still at the dealership.
My suggestion is get it one % all the way around except for the winshield, get it a little lower.

check out what you can do for the tint laws

Hope this helps you out.

Re: Tint

Tim,

I live in CA as well and on my old car I have the 35%/50% combo. I have been pulled over 3 or 4 times in the 8 years I've had the car. It was always at night, because that's when the tint is most easily noticed. Luckily I got out of a ticket everytime. It's only a fix-it ticket, but tint is a real hassle to remove. Try having the tint place agree to remove the tint for free if you get a fix-it ticket.
