Their products are usually very good. That being said, you can get similar if not better results for cheaper elsewhere. While I am not affiliated with any of these, I would sugegst looking at:
http://www.poorboysworld.com http://www.exceldetail.com (customer service is second to none) http://www.properautocare.com I leave out one big one due to a friend's HORRIBLE customer service with the geeks there (hint). -GT |
^Good info. Anybody else have an opinion?

I have purchased some thing from Griots. My opinion is that their products are simply rebranded versions of other companies. That said, for the most part I think their products are somewhat tested and proven although there are a few posts on AUTOPIA where people had problems with some of their items.
Basically you should be selective with what you buy as many of their products if not better ones can be found elsewhere for a lower cost as mentioned above. I bought their waffle weave MF drying towel, their MF's (yellow n white) which I like very much, the cold weather wash mitt (Great for washing in the winter) and a few other odds and ends. Their glass polish works great on shower doors to remove soap scum and water marks but I am sure other brands would be just as effective. Just be aware of pricing and research a bit before ordering as you can find similar products cheaper elsewhere. Autopia.org is a great site for detailing information! It will make you crazy with the amount of info there! |
I use their polishes, clay bar, wax, Interior Cleaner. Can be pricey especially when you add shipping charges. Been using for about 8 years with very good results. Towels, clothes, hand tools, PC buffer can usually be found for less. Autopia has the best applicator pads I've found.

I've used Griots Machine Polish 2 and 3 in the past. While they do give good results they are also overpriced. I've had better results with the poorboy's world polishes that I recently bought.

Yea almost everything at Griots is relabeled. They use 3M stuff along with many other brands. I highly recommend brands like Menzerna, P21S, Poorboy's World, 303 etc. .

All of Griot's products seem high quality, and good for "one stop shopping". Just be aware of the prices, however.

I've been using their products for years. The prices are high, but the car care stuff really works. I've exclusively used their products on my G coupe and the results are spectacular.
I have a hard time paying for the tools since you can always find it somewhere else for less. But they warranty everything for life and the customer service is superb. |
On the subject of someone else making the same products, it is pretty common to see talk of Chemical Guys on most forums. They are a chemical company that produces a large volume of the boutique waxes and such.
www.chemicalguys.com I have a gallon of their Butter Wet Wax and am willing to share. I don't think I will live long enough to use it all. -GT |
I use Griot's wheel cleaner exclusively. It works extremely well on my G.
