Finally broke 14's

Well I finally broke 14's today with a 14.969.. I kinda cheated by going to a different track.. They day before that I went to the usual one I go to and just ran yet another 15.1

I think what broke me into the 14's was that I pushed my car all the way to the front instead of sitting in the car and leaving the car on.. Car was cold and I could tell right away that the car was pulling harder than usual.. I shifted WAY early on the 2-3 shift so I'm sure that cost me about .2 seconds.

3rd gear is a dud on these automatics... If only 3rd would pull as hard as 1st and 2nd then G's and Z's could run a lot better times stock.

I need some central 20 3.9 gears!

Dude you need to launch that thing harder I run 14.6's stock...Good Luck next time out

Yup! I ran during the import vs. domestics.. Its definitely a faster track than firebird.

I really want to go to a track where I can get like 15 runs.. this past friday i went to firebird and only got 2 runs in 3 hours.

I went to the track and only thing I had is jwt pop charger and z-tube. I got 14.3 with those mods.

What rpm did you brake stall at?

GrayG35 Apr 22, 2008 05:25 PM

i think its because of the track location. ive always heard that people in arizona run higher times than most other places

I routinely run 14.3s and 14.4s here in Portland in my stock '04 5AT coupe, but the nights are usually cool and Portland International Raceway is only about 25 feet above sea level.

You're lucky - nearly 3500 feet here, I'm scared to see what I'd run. And what about the guys in Denver? They all need FI!
