Low 5 sec. 0-60 on stock G35coupe?!?

Hi everyone,

I got myself a Gtech RR and, after doing the calibration yesterday, I did a few runs...the one that puzzles me is 0-60 in 5.23 s...I'm completely stock and on winter tire! Is that even possible?

I have a 2004 G35 coupe 6 speed; for what I've read, stock time should be more like 5.4s.

What do you guys think? Any way of validating the right setup on the Gtech?

Thanks

i saw somewhere before that the gtech is sensitive so it starts timing at the split second the car moves, when compared to the beams at a drag strip, your have a couple inches till the beams go off. but im not saying that a 0-60 is measured at the drag strip. but if that times is really accurate, that is awesome!
just my 0.02

Do you know anyone with a VBOX?

0-sixty times web site has an 06 manual coupe even faster than that.

What about 2004 6spd? The consistant number I found is 5.4...is that right?

So, if I understand corretly, the Gtech is less forgiving if you don't push it hard right away? If the car has a small roll at the beginning, that means the clock would be already started?

2007 Infiniti G35 Sport (Manual) 0-60 mph 5.0 Quarter mile 13.5
2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe 0-60 mph 5.4 Quarter mile 14.0 as per zeroto60times.com. It states that we're faster than the g37 (bigger, heavier?).

Faster than the G37...now that's interesting considering that the G37 has 50 hp over the 2004 G35 coupe. It's all about power vs weight! lol

Try it with the staging lights and see if it's the same or close. The RR you can adjust the roll out from 6-12in.

I've used it at the track and the times are not far off from the track times if it's calibrated right.

the winter tires will probably make your 0-60 better because of the soft sidewalls, but gtech isnt always all that accurate, you have to calibrate it properly

the 07 would be faster than the g37 not the 04 according to the site.

yeah the HR powered G35 sedans are slightly faster then G37 coupes because they are lighter

idrivetsi 04-15-2011 11:56 AM

those things are not too accurate...i would use to to determine gains...but not straight up times...
