G35's Tranny

Just wondering how much you guys' stock tranny holds up. I saw a post that some guy was pushing 155 shots of Nitrous and hitting the 12s..... pretty damn impressive....!!!

Re: G35's Tranny

I have run all the way up to 150-shot, others have run up to 175-shot. Anything up to an including a 125-shot will be too much torque for the 6mt in low gears. With the 125-shot, I cannot spray in 1st as the clutch will start to slip. Usually, if I spray in 2nd, I'll be fine. Kinda same thing with 150. If I wait until high 2nd or 3rd gear, I'll be fine. Any gear lower can result in clutch slip. You may get lucky and get a couple of runs out of it without slipping, but most of the time I run into this. Also, this depends on bottle pressure. A 150-shot with a low bottle pressure, i.e. 650 psi, will actually give you a lot less than 150-shot. So if your not heating your bottle up to 1000 psi or something, you can probably get away with it, but then you aren't running the full shot either. There are good aftermarket clutches that you can get for a little about $500.

Good luck.

Re: G35's Tranny

Thats pretty damn impressive. I myself own an IS300 but I'm a fan of all cars. I was seriously considering the G35 also but just fell in love w/ the IS's feel and looks.

Has anyone tried T/C'ing the G yet??? that would be rediculously quick! I've read about the 2 s/c's and the unfortunate accident.... RIP!
I haven't seen your engine bay but from outside it looks like you've got quite alot of room to work with. Great times btw... i read your other posts!!
