Car is exepriencing U1000 dtc code. Help!
My G35x 2005, as of lately have been getting the u1000 code it only appears on the OBDII scanner. Nothing shows up on the dash board. The car sometimes is responsive when the accelerator is engage but other times it's not. It feels like the car wants to go but something is holding it back, RPM increases but the speedometer doesn't reflect such.
I have researched this problem extensively :http://engine-codes.com/uploads/ITB06-004a.pdf. But my car is experiencing a drivability issue, I recently had a remote starter, alarm system and after market radio/navigation unit installed, I am including my most recent developments so everything can be accounted for while attempting to diagnose this DTC code -U1000. Please chime in..... |
find all of your grounds in the engine bay.....take them loose, clean the surfaces, and snug them back up. you prolly should do it to your cabin grounds that are under the dash too.

umm......there are 2 spots in the battery compartment, a big one under the coolant reservoir and a small one on the strut tower nearby. there are a on the timing cover. and another on the passenger strut tower. i cant remember if there is one in the brake m/c area or not. not around the car to peek. and the big ones inside will be visible once you take off the lower panel under the steering wheel and the glove compartment.

I had the one located under coolant reservoir and by the strut tower checked also. What two spots on the battery you're referring too, it is the postive + and negative - terminal area or the fuse box area ..... |
take the battery cover off and you'll see where the 2 spots are. not the battery terminals themselves, but one is the opposite end of the neg cable where it bolts down. dont forget bout the ones on the timing cover too.

also you can have a 1000 code in different systems, but if you feel a driveability difference....then more likely its in the engine system. just go through every ground you can find first.

The print out I got back from the Infiniti Dealership displayed U1000, the error was also confirmed later by a tech using a SCANNER, validating the issue with the CAN. But the later print out indicated ABS U1000 error code. Someone told me to use a Multi-meter to check for continuity & ground. |
Pm'ed you.
|
so you got a u1000 for engine and abs systems. def check grounds. and yeah, you're gonna need a multimeter to check for continuity between wires and for grounds. you're gonna end up pulling the connectors for the ecm and vdc/abs control unit so you can check the pins for any contamination or such, could be a loose connection also.

Where is vdc/abs control unit located? |
Bringing this back from the dead. I have the same U1000 code (pulled from the ABS module using Cipher. No DTC on the dash).
I do have an SxExCx grounding kit installed. Can this be related at all? |
Update:
After removing the SxExCx transmission grounding wire, the code has disappeared and hasn't returned in a week. Problem solved! |
my car just got this -_-
