High RPM's won't shift to 4th

When I accelerate fast, shifting at high rpm’s from second to third I get nothing...it feels like shifting into neutral. It takes a few tries to get third gear to engage. This only seems to happen when accelerating fast and shifting at high rpm’s. Under normal driving everything is fine. Any ideas?

Sounds like dying syncros, very common among the pre-06 cars. What year is it?

I have yet to see a successfully rebuilt G/Z transmission. And even if you found someone confident enough to do so the components are extremely expensive. Best off just buying a new CD009

I'll have to agree with Rob on this one. A new CD009 is going to be the best route.

I'd agree most of the time. Although we've rebuilt countless Nissan transmissions, oftentimes we see a simple "sychro grind" turn into far more than that. And once you are inside the transmission, the parts and labor start to really add up. We have new CD009 replacement trans in stock and around $1800 done deal.

If one had the experience and tooling to do the transmission overhaul themselves, then it might be more cost effective to repair instead of replace. But the overwhelming majority, a replacement is the best option.

We have several CD009s on the shelf for $1695 if you decide to go that route
