Transgo shift kit installed using DIY from here
 

Like it says i decided to do the install of the kit on my 2007 G35 coupe myself rather then send the valve body away or find someone local.

I was going to have a mechanic from work help but decided last night to put it in with a buddy.

Luckily he has a 2 post portable lift and a healthy selection of tools.

Started the job around 8:30pm and finished everything including the test drive and shop clean up around 2am. Also stopped around 10pm for pizza and beer. All in all I'd say it took 4-5 hours. We really took our time and confirmed each step.

All in all the actual disassembly and modifications to the valve body were the easy part in my opinion. Getting the valve body out and back in was more work.

I would say anyone who can follow instructions and have patience can do this but it helps tremendously to have a lift for ease of access.

Haven't hammered on the car yet but drove it on a shakedown run and it has much improved shift speed. The little bit I did push it the shifts were nice and firm. My friend who helped was impressed at the difference from stock.

Sorry no pictures on my phone from the install but there are a few on my friends. I'll post them when he sends them. Not any difference from the DIY pics though.

Lastly the car has 96,000km on it and the pan and magnets were remarkably clean. Some ultra fine metallic particles on the magnets.

Big thanks to the guys who forged the path years ago to make the DIY. Great job!

No shop in the ohio Kentucky Indiana area will do this for me for some reason. Looks like I'll have to follow that DIY eventually.

Urbanengineer it honestly is DIY. I am so glad I did it. It looks intimidating but if you stay organized and follow the DIY and download and print the files from transgo they are amazing instructions. I have seen a lot of instruction pages over the years and the color PDFs from transgo really are top notch.
