04 G35 Coupe 6MT noise / clicking / play

Anyone else run into this:

When the car is warmed (or warming up sometimes) and idling, you hear clicking sounds coming from the transmission somewhere. It almost sounds like there's play in between the input and output shafts and the gears are making noise. Another possible cause is the pilot bearing is going bad or the bearing that's on the clutch release fork.

Sometimes when putting into 1st gear, i can hear a tap as the gears get in place, or the drive shaft shifts some torque to the diff in the back? not sure. When i press the clutch pedal in, the clicking noise goes away. My old turbo diesel truck had same issue, and it seems like it's because the holes in the core of the transmission have too much room for the bearings.

I'm planning to take apart the transmission by myself in couple months and figure it out. Just thought i'd see if anyone ran into this (or similar) problem before too?

I've dealt with simple corolla transmission which isnt so fun taking off the car. I hope that this one is easier.
