'05 G35 Coupe- Transmission Fluid Question
All-
I have an '05 G35 Coupe with 162,000 miles. I've never changed the transmission fluid. I had a shop quote me $267.00 for flushing it and replacing. I had 2 other shops tell me not to change it since i've never done it. It will only cause problems. Thoughts? Thx. |
YMMV, but I would never recommend a flush to someone who never changed it in 160k miles. I may recommend a DRAIN AND FILL though!

Is that something i can do? I'm not a mechanic.
thx |
Drain and fill would be very easy there's a drain bolt on the trans pan, drain and refill at the little dipstick by the firewall! It becomes a little lengthier if you do the transmission filter at the same time, but none the less fairly easy

Moved to the appropriate place. OP please read all sub-forum headers, the one you started this in specifically says "NO car questions" it's just for forum feedback/ suggestions to the powers that be.

It's as easy as changing engine oil bud.

Sorry I didn't read the rules. Put me in jail.

$267 is about normal for an auto trans fluid change. If you have to ask how it's done, probably better off letting a shop handle it. Take it to a Nissan dealer so you know they'll use the correct fluid.
Most shops are moving away from a "flush" and doing drain and fills on auto trans these days. |
