Damn, and I'm looking for a revup replacement for a decent price. Darn ghost sellers not even posting a location.

I've had luck posting a WTB craigslist ad for harder to find items like this. If you're comfortable taking the heads off a motor then you can just pick up ANY low mileage VQ35DE from a G/Z and just get your heads tested/rebuilt (or just reuse them as is), buy a gasket kit, reassemble, and be G2G.

Rev up motor needed

Hello everyone I've got a 05 g35 manual transmission. My engine recently started knocking and in needed of a new motor. Short in time I had my mechanic install a motor for me back then but he had install a non rev up motor so I am screwed with it. If there is a chance I can rebuild it to rev up that would be good. Any help would be appreciated. I'm located in houston tx. If you know anyone who can do it for decent price please let me know thank you in advance

So if my Revup had Rod Knock, I’d be able to just get any DE block and reuse my heads while only replacing what is needed and buying a gasket kit ? Or what else would be absolutely necessary to buy new and replace ?

Swap over revup oil pump also.

Technically I think the revup pistons have a low friction coating, or somehow different, but it's minor. What you listed will get you back on the road at a minimum at least.

There's a bunch of "while you're in there" things that can be done, but that just depends on budget and how far you want to take a rebuild.

If the engine is just knocking and hasn't spun bearings and recycled all of the metal through the oil system and or scratched the crank up I would just find a good DE or Revup and freshen it up. With a DE donor just totally strip it down to block and rotating assembly then move all of the revup stuff over.

Honestly I would dingle ball hone and re ring it while doing all of that engine work. It will fix the oil consumption issues too. Believe it or not the cheap rings work really well, I have $26 EVE rings in my G20 turbo car @ 20 psi boost and it has been on the road for years. If you aren't comfortable using the service manual for checking bearing clearance and piston ring gap you might want to have a engine shop go over it. Just ballpark pricing I had a buddy take a 302ci to have it freshened up and it cost $800.
