DIY: make your own grounding kit + Install!

I found this on my350z.com while looking through the for sale ads. Its a link to a website that tells the lengths and exactly where to install the wires for their grounding kit + all hardware needed. I have a 6mt so I probably get around to this but it will help the AT guys.

Heres the link, enjoy!

I just did the math... if you already own a crimping tool, it'll be jist a little over 50 bucks through crutchfield for wire and terminal rings' nice find again!

"5 - 4 gauge heat & chemical resistant insulated high purity copper cables:

#1 - 16" - Left side of intake manifold to front of the engine.
#2 - 20" - Left side of intake manifold to left side chassis ground.
#3 - 26" - Left side of intake manifold to the negative connection of battery.
#4 - 30" - Rear left of intake manifold to front of engine.
#5 - 32" - Rear right of intake manifold to front of engine. "

sooo where do i find these, home depot?

Only problem with the kit is where and how to install the 6 wires they are missing.

I Dont Think Amp Cable's Exterior Is Heat Resistant ..

It Is Going Into The Engine Compartment After All ..

Or Am I Wrong .??

MixturePinoy 08-27-2007 05:43 PM

It's heat resistant. It's used for the power of an amp, which 99.9 percent of the time runs in the engine compartment to get to the battery'

I made mine about 3 years ago from a link on 350Z. Went down to my local car stereo place and got the connections and wire. Total cost was about $40 for the 5 wire set for my 6mt.

Electrical/mechanical terminations have to be good too because of vibration. That's why many of purchased Gordees Grounding Kit. Even the terminals have commercial high pressure crimps, not hand crimps.
Quality workmanship and material.
But good luck doing it yourself!
