AWESOME WEBSITE!!

You can use the stock air box with a Z tube, correct?

fishhouse 01-12-2009 12:51 AM

thanks! :)

of course you can keep stock airbox - some prefer that. you should add a higher flow air filter though - something like a K&N instead of the cheap regular filter if you plain to keep the stock airbox.

hi just installed the z tube and popcharger to my 06 g35 6mt coupe thx for write up but so i have to reset my ecu? and 1 more some people they said they have mrev2 whats that? thanks again

fishhouse 02-11-2009 08:02 PM

resetting your ecu is optional but recommended. if you disconnected your neg. battery cable while installing then you've already reset it!

our ecu will relearn the new setup over time no matter - a reset just forces it to start fresh and relearn the best settings with the new intake right away.

check out MotorDyne's site for a bunch of info about both the MREV and Spacers. a quick search will help you as well find more info. i highly recommend the 5/16" spacer - don't have a MREV myself since from what i've read you get the most benefit from one with a 6mt. i have install tutorial for their Spacer on my site as well.

Thank you for the directions, this saved me a lot of time and now i have to go have a serious talk with my mechanic because i just got my exhaust, ztube and pop charger installed and i just checked ant the "ztube" looks exactly like the stock one. I'm going to check the box of the old stuff he gave me and see if by accident he might have forgoten to install it. If not do you think its possible that czp forgot to send me the ztube with my exhaust/pop charger combo?

fishhouse 02-18-2009 07:58 AM

thats pretty crazy...something sounds fishy.

Well turns out that one of the people that opened the box put the ztube on the side and forgot about it and today when I went back to tell them they were more than happy to put it on and were extremley apologetic about the whole situation, but couldnt help but feel bad for the guy who set it aside in the first place because my main mechanic (his boss) had a long talk with him. well after 2 trips to the shop everything is done. Anyways great instructions I used them to help my friend who is getting a ztube as well.
