Enhance the engine tone?

Hey,

What can I do to enhance the engine note of my 06 Coupe? I'm not looking for more power, I just want the engine sound to come into the cabin more.

Thanks,
MrElussive

Injen CAI or Stillen CAI but Injen is the loudest of all the intakes. You will hear the motor in your cabin when you floor it:)

ya..or a z-tube with new filter

MrElussive 07-09-2006 06:40 PM

Gonna go with Z-Tube and maybe new air filter. Thanks guys. :)

The motordyne spacer also provides more growl noticable in the cabin.

Z-tube and remove the Power Duct cover on the airbox. You'll be amazed at the difference in sound. It will sound as if you added an exhaust.

I also recommend ztube and removing the "power duct" cover. I think you get 95% of the Stillen or Injen sound .. for free. This is by far the cheapest way to get more sound from the engine bay. But you don't get any of it until you get the ztube. Otherwise the stock tube will kill the sound no matter what you do.

Nah dont remove power duct unless u want to remove power.

MrElussive 07-10-2006 04:08 PM

Awesome, thanks for the extra responses.

How so? My G ran great times with no Power Duct cover.

That's the problem dude. I like windows down and A/C off they quieted down the engine for 05+ so now it's pretty much all exhaust when I accelerate hard with the windows down. Windows up, the engine sounds great, but not audible enough for me when A/C is running strong during these summer months. Engine sounds too good to not be able to hear it enough.

Add a blower. Then you and everyone around you will hear it regardless.

Just take off the power duct... any hp loss (likely incredibly small) will be too small to notice... It makes the car sound a lot better.
