What's the best way to get 300 hp?

Re: What's the best way to get 300 hp?
"From what ive seen people seen gains when they advanced the timing one to two degrees on any VQ35DE engine...but that means that you cant run any lower than 93 octane or 91 in the west coast. "
How is that done ? I can get 93 at every gas station and 94 isnt hard to get at all (I have 3 sunocos that sell 94 within 2 mile radius of my house). How much of a boost would you say I would see if the timing was adjusted for 93 ?
Crawford Plenum / Z tube + Stillen Hi-Flow / Borla Dual Exhaust / Stillen Xdrilled+Stotted Rotors
Best 1/4 mile 14.371 @ 100.29, 60ft 2.347

Re: What's the best way to get 300 hp?
Read my post again....i mean 91 octane for people that live on the west coast not east coast...from what i hear at majority of the gas stations on the west has their highest octane rating of 91...anyone from the west can confirm this?......When adjusting the timing people felt gain according to their "butt dyno"...but i have yet to see any dyno charts if there was any actual gains from this mod. But a few people seen gains at the track when they did this mod. But again this has not been dyno proven yet.

How much to you think you've spent on all of your mods gsedan...and by the way, why do you go by GSEDAN when you drive a coupe?

Gsedan had a sedan in a previous life, but we pulled him over to the dark side . . .

They say that you never know what you had until you lost it. Thus, after finding out that the extra 20 ponies is myth and offset by the heavy weight of the coupe, plus higher insurance, slower than it looks, etc., I think his name is GSedan because that's what he wishes he still had. J/K!

Hi:
Xmax is correct about the low octain on the west coast. It used to be maxed at 92 and all of the pumps say that it is 92. But about 2 years ago, the refinery unilaterally decided it was only going to make 91 octain. Apparently they have the legal authority to do what ever they want as they have absolute control over the gas pipe lines. Living in California, we have poor quality gas and strict controls on what mods can be made to cars

Re: What's the best way to get 300 hp?
If California had 93 or higher octane gas at decent prices, it would be the perfect place to live. However, that's not true cause we get horrible gas here. Oh yeah, the older gas stations or the ones that just don't care and haven't found the time to switch out the gas selection tabs still say 92 on them. Anyone care to file a lawsuit for false advertising? =P

Re: What's the best way to get 300 hp?
I live in CA. I probably spend about $17,000.00 a year in fuel. Well that's putting 100LL AVGAS in my airplane at @2.25 a gallon. Hm.. maybee I'll try that in my G. If it only had wings I've heard stories of guys sneaking in airports and filling up gas tanks at the self serve pumps.

I don't want to hijack this thread, so I have taken my oil refinery / gas station rant over to Off Topic...
