Hey guys, how is it going? :thewave: I have been noticing over the last 15,000 miles that my cars throttle response has been quickly going to hell. It is pretty ridiculous now. You just tap the gas for instance and there is a good 1/4 to 1/2 second delay before the car gets the fuel. I was thinking it could be something to do with the fuel injectors, but i am not sure. :dunno:

Anyone have any kind of resolution for this? I have already reset the ECU and changed the spark plugs 30k miles ago.

Any help you would be great! :D

Yes, already did that about 15K miles ago. At first i thought it was the transmission starting to go, but i dont think it is anymore...the lag is just to bad.

I am sure that there might be something gummed up in your fuel system, I would try a fuel sytem cleaner that gets added with one tank of gas

I was thinking about it...i have used it on previous cars, but a lot of people say to stay away from fuel cleaners...?

I dont know what would be built up though. I only use Chevron 93 octane with techron.

how many miles do you have? i ran only name brand 93 octane in my previous VQ which supposedly had the fuel filter that didnt need replacement. i took apart the assembly under the backseat to find the fuel filter was caked with sediment with only 40k on the car. this car has a similar setup and i will be replacing mine around the same mileage. nissan/infiniti says its a nonserviceable item but like every other fuel filter made, it gets dirty/clogged.

I am a little bit passed 103,000 miles. I think there was a recall on the fuel filter or something fuel related. I had that replaced at 60K miles...so if they replaced the fuel filter i only have 43K miles on the filter...

Doesn't this prove that 93 octane is no cleaner than the others?

I was thinking of buying a short ram to see what happens, but i have had the CAI for 80K miles, give or take, and the throttle responce just started to really die out in the last few thousand miles, which si what brings me to the conclusion that its not the CAI.

Our cars are drive by wire. How about checking the accelerator pedal sensor or throttle body actuator motor?

Two things can be tried out:

1, Add Grounding wires, it does work, trust me, I am very picky & sensitive with my mods, would have taken it off if it didn't work.

2, Take the ME spacer off, trust me again, don't care what other's say,
just take it off & see if it makes a difference. You've got nothing to lose.

My throttle response is instantaneous & linear, very similar to the BMW 325 I had before, but it didn't come this way on the G stock. Grounding gear really works, and I've added & taken off ME spacer twice, I could not tolerate anything that slow down the joy of instant throttle response.

Well here is what i want to do. I want to eliminate the problem all together. Just buying grounding wires isn't going to fix it. It might be a temporary fix (if that), but the problem is going to get worse and eventually come back.

The reason i say that is because it has been getting really bad (the lag) over the last few thousand miles and is definitely getting worse.

The Motordyne spacer isn’t the cause in my opinion. I have had that for almost 40,000 miles.

I know that the car is a drive by wire system so it has to be something electrical related or sensor related or its the transmission...
