Wanting to Raise Idle - Dealer, UTEC... what's the best way?

I'm looking to raise the idle on my ProCharged 2004.5.

Which is the best way to go at it? Through the UTEC or just have the dealer do it through the stock ECU? Will doing it either way effect the tune?

Thanks!

I dont think the utec can do it but i know the osiris(spelling)and the dealer can do it.Also the aam or tecnosqaure flash can do it too.
Neither way will affect the tune.

hit the gas a little you cheap-o

The Utec connot control idle and the dealer can attempt to adjust the idle, but the Utec will prolly fight with the factory EMS. :7: Hit or miss, not to mention the dealer is gonna charge you $75 or more to try/do it. I would spend the money on a flash and get the extra goodies that come with it.

Where is your idle at now? Your tuner should be able to raise it.

It's at about 500-600. I'd like it around 900 or so to keep the SC from rattling and the idle from being as rough

ya no dice with the utec unfortunatly

your best bet might be to do a reflash and have whoever does it raise the idle

Did it the Nissan dealership on my G with they're handheld OBDII unit, it was yellow with a thick rubber jacket. I got hooked up for only 30 bucks. It literally took 5 minutes. The screen on their unit shows "up" "down" and "apply". I had it raised to 875RPM and its perfect.

Dv8, how long ago did you have it done? Has the idle stayed constant or has the UTEC tried to corect it as written above?

fbpem1 Sep 11, 2008 03:52 PM

that thick yellow rubber case is Nissan/Infiniti's tool Consult II. I have done this for numerours cars in my area that have been modified be it turbo or supercharged takes less than 5 minutes and if you make a friend at the dealer they won't charge you anything since it dosn't even have to be pulled into the shop for that procedure

ya man it is great to have friends in all different places

2 weeks ago. It's stayed constant and only applies to park and neutral for my auto. In drive, it drops down a bit lower but still higher than before the raise.
