I don't have the car yet and the mod bug has hit
What is wrong with me?
I've already ordered clear corners. I can't stop surfing the net to find the best sway bars, exhaust options and so forth. I was getting into this car to settle down a little and enjoy a nice OEM car while I put my money elsewhere. Today I've finally realized that nothing's going to change with this car. I'm going to want to tweak it until I get rid of it, just like my current car. |
Re: I don't have the car yet and the mod bug has hit
i think u should look at dynos... that will prolly kill ur desire to spend money on little stuff like exhaust and such... haha our engine is terrible for modding. this way u willg et all discouraged and not spend money on stupid things and then realize "o CHILLLLL i have $8k just sitting the bank.... FORCED INDUCTION!" haha
i myself have the same problem... i am actually looking for things to pawn that i own (and stuff that i dont think my paretns/sisters/friends will miss hahaha) <-- joking about the other people's stuff. I find myself looking through couch cushions and my attick looking for stuff that goes unused so that i can get maybe a couple of extra dollars to spend on my g (or get a single mod a couple of days earlier or something). I am currently in the process of selling about $1200 worht of paintball equipment from when i used to be really serious into playing competitive paintball all over the country.... i wish i had never done it... i would have soooooo much money to dump into my G, but now im stuck selling of stuff that i bought for $4k for about a 1/4 of that (i didnt buy it all at once btw) and have to think about the cost of $60-80 dollars a week that i spent playing.... GAWD i want to go back in time and beat my own *** for spending my money before i turned 16 and got a car haha 2004 Black on Black g coupe 6spd.... aluminum pedals, clear corners, z tube, and pop charger. soon to have 19" volk gt-c's and PIAA xtreme whites in the clearance and corners Houston Texas |
Re: I don't have the car yet and the mod bug has hit
I've always done that. In college it was on stereo equipment I had to sell to pay rent. If I fool myself, I've settled down in my older age, but not really when you think of all the money I dumped into my S4. That is a well learned lesson.
I hear your point on dynos. Fortunately, there isn't much to get out of these cars without taking a big step to FI. With my Audi a $700 chip got me 100 ft./lbs and 60 hp, a new car! Then I had to change the exhaust, and the diverter valves, and engine mounts, and the suspension, and so on. It's so much easier to get gains from a turbo engine. So, I should be happy with the following (I hope): Z tube Y pipe spacers sway bars TS ECU That shouldn't be too much, should it? Maybe I should bookmark this and come back in 18 months. |
