No you don't need one, unless you want to pay $400 for 1-2 HP

If spending $460 for 5hp is a waste, then is an HKS exhaust a waste?

it really wont benifit by itself if you where to do all the bolt ons and a tune then you can get 10/10 out it plus what ever the other mods but out but by itself then your just wasting money

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
If you were going to get tuned, want ~10 more horsepower, and have $460 to spend then I'd do it. There are only so many bolt-ons you can throw on to increase HP.

I guess it comes down to you and what you want.

Motordyne website says that MREV2 is a prerequisite to their spacers. How much truth is there to this or is it a complete marketing ploy?

^"They do not" as in they don't say it or they don't require it? This is a part of the description for their [G35 & M35 MREV 2 Manifold TM]:

"The MREV2 is a prerequisite to the plenum spacer when used on a revup engine. No other normally aspirated VQ modification provides as much gain as the MREV 2 Manifold!"

It does more for the REVUP engine...but for the DE it will give you about 5 HP on the dyno. There are many threads about this. You can talk to Tony as well. Its just a modified version of the same lower plenum that you have on your car right now.

As in they don't say it's a prerequisite
On the REVUP maybe, but the person asking the question here has an '04 6MT (ergo non-revup)

I know the person was asking about the non-revup motor but I just wanted to know what the members thought about the whole prerequisite deal in general (i.e. legitimacy)
