assistance needed....long story short hole in gas tank...

well I was moving around my amps and capacitors lastnight and finished up this morning to make a more presentable look in the car and I was screwing down the capacitor brackets down in the backseat where the tray is to display it there with a nice piece of plexi-glass and I didnt realize...My stupidity that the top of the gas tank is that hump area...so obviously my capacitor should not be going there....anyways I removed the screws and I started smelling gas...one of the screws punctured the tank just barely...small ball point size pen hole...what can I use to plug that hole?? what would be smart solution...I need to figure out where im going to mount the capactior now...any help is appreciated.

I would actually replace the gas tank.

I plugged with JB Weld....we shall see.

Itll hold. Its not great pressure in the tank. I woulda even used silicone. lol.

g35man04 09-08-2009 08:33 PM

well I didnt jb weld the tank itself..I plugged the holes inside of the car...now im spelling fumes again...of course I would need to drop the tank down to plug the holes on top..if thats the case I am probably just going to change it out....

Good idea, I don't know how big the hole is, but it just seems like any whole would be dangerous. Or at least risky business.

g35man04 09-08-2009 09:43 PM

yeah I think risky business is a good word

In the event you happen to flip your car, land upside down, and find gasoline leaking from the hole; which catches fire and engulfs the car in flames.

hey now easy...**** I wont drive it now..lol!!!
