Why does the clutch/flywheel chatter? It's random..

Which is it chattering? And why does it have so much on its mind?

No, ok, but seriously, my clutch or flywheel or both chatter at idle with the clutch pedal up. It goes away once I push the clutch pedal in.

BUT, it's almost at complete random, sometimes it chatters, sometimes it doesn't. Why is it random? Can it be fixed?

Thanks.

its flywheel chatter its normal. on hills its louder

be glad you do not have an aftermarket flywheel like me. it sounds like a cement mixer lol

sooo weird, why is it random? what makes it talk?

its actually noise originated in the transmission. the dual mass flywheel is there to help dampen the sounds.

Normal when under heavy load(high gear & low rpm) or not in gear/clutch out.

i have an ACT clutch and light weight flywheel... and every time im idling it sounds as if im grinding gears... im starting to think it wasnt worth it

Installed the JWT combo on my friends Z...its not that noisy. I expected a lot worse given that everyone here always complains about the noise. Mostly noticeable only in the garage or enclosed area at idle.
