sometimes it's cheaper to get that deal and then get a filter of you choice rather than buying everything separately.
Look into it.
I always get the Catrol Syntec deal. No matter what kind of filter come with it. If it's something I can use (K&N, Mobil) I use it, if not I just get additional wix filter, toss Fram and it still comes out cheaper.

I "think" the tough guard Fram is acceptable. It seems to be built better than the base line which is junk.

according to this break down video i was just watchin of the dismantling of oil filters, oem is usually crap, mobile one's are sub standard. I'm using bosch and after watching it i'm not satisfied. K & N looks good and Amsoil looks the best. Fram is the worst oil filter in the world. Youtube videos of the the filter being dismantled showed that the filter wasn't even connected. With be ridges allowing oil to simply flow throw taking away any filtration. Might as well throw a bowl on there.

doesn't really help much, you don't tighten it too much. The Nut on the K&N helps alot on removal though.
OEM is a Fram Oil filter.

I spoke to my boy yesterday about oil filters. He has a 600 HP plus fully built greddy twin turbo convertibile Z. He said the same thing. "I use oem." "I heard on the forums that all the guys running forced induction are." I learn now that they're wrong. Not to mention, he also said his dad lives by amsoil but he trusts what he read on Z forums. Always listen to your elders.
