The 4 cams are cheap compared to dissassembly of engine to change them and new valve bucket lifters to achieve a precision lash and fit.

Might take 20 hours to do the job precisely!

oh ya i know the work is going to be a nightmare but gives me something to do instead of go out and party.

Q45tech I got a qus for you:

A few months back i crashed into a curbed pretty bad bent my wheel and i know i bet my lower control arm just a tad.
I got an alighnment and stuff its all straight now but I think my wheel bearing is bad too its just humming when i turn right if i turn left it goes away. I took ti to the dealer they said its the agressive tire tread because i have aftermarket wheels. do you think i should put my stocks on take i back to them or try another dealer or what..... your help would be great.

ZZracing....I had that problem .Let me ask a question . Can you feel it in the steering wheel ? If so.....it may be the header on the drivers side . touching the steering collum .But dont know if you have headers or not .

Couldnt afford it when young...gonna play when Im old

Put it up on a rack and spin the tire and listen to the bearing with a probe stethoscope.

Getting back to zazaracing's question. Does anyone here have experience with the Nismo or JWT cams? I know one guy that does and I'm trying to get more information from him.

From what I've read (I think in Sports Compact Car) and heard the cams should provide some gain, but it is more noticable when other mods are added on like the plenum and headers.

White G35C, what's the difference between the type R and the ones you have? Are they direct bolt on, or does the engine need anymore modifications?

Re: Cam's anyone????

As long as the engine is pretty new you probably don't have to measure and replace the 24 bucket lifters to get the valve lash correct. This can save 12 hours and tremendous extra work and reduce 25 hours down to 12.

Pulling valve covers, front covers and drive chains is the panful time consumming part along with their replacement.

Gotta have a young and good back to bend over for the duration. Almost easier to pull engine out and do the whole job on an engine stand.

Crane should be coming out with a variety of camshaft sets that should be out in the first quarter of next year (perfect timing for me - I done with engine stuff for a while) - they will be VERY affordable compared to the other sets currently available (all $1,100+) at around $600/set and they will have various applications for N/A, F/I, and strickly race setups... they will definitely have my business when they're ready...

but if you are in the market for a set now, I would look into the JWT's - many 350Z owners have them and all have been giving them rave reviews...
