D.I.Y. plug change
 

Hi all, don't know if I looked in the wrong place but just want to put some feelers out for the ease of changing the plugs on a 06 g35. I was told I needed 2 steps colder but that wasn't the case. The car runs like crap on the top end so I'm sure i only need 1 step colder. Thanks in advance.

the only way to know if you need 1 step colder and 2 step colder plugs is to take them out after a WOT run and inspect them. 1-step colder is generally sufficient for your area depending on how much power you are putting down though

The plugs are pretty easy to change out. Just take your time and dont cross connect the ignition coil connecters. Aside from that its easy and should take you about 1 hour. Passenger side is harder to get at because of the wiring harness but its not that bad.

I'm sure i need 1 step colder. The spec sheet when the car was built said they used 2 steps colder. They either were lying or something else happened because at WOT the power is not what it used to be. I had the plugs pulled after i purchased the 2 step colder ones and sure enough they were 1 below. I was hoping for some pics, or diagrams as to where things are located.
