AT oil change

When should the AT oil be changed.
I asked my service advisor last time I was there to get it done at 30k and he said you don't have to.
Alse there is a drain and fill vs. flush and fill. I guess safe bet is to go with the flush although it is double to price.
I am thinking about going to Nissan instead of infiniti to save some money anyone has any experience with the Nissan dealership, my assumption is they will use the same service/stuff.

I have a 03.5 sedan and wondering how do you check the AT level?

Re: AT oil change

The service schedule I have calls for a transmission flush and change at 40k miles. From what I've heard, that's a good time to get it done. You can go longer, but it's not worth the risk. It's very important to use Nissan's Type 'J' fluid in our trannies.

Flushing is better since it cleans out all the old fluid even from the torque converter.

Nissan dealers would be cheaper and use the same fluid as Infiniti dealers.

The dipstick, if you have one, is at the back of the engine see pic.-- You have to take out the hold down bolt. My grounding wire #6 is attached to it.
