I installed an injen auto intake on my manual and...

My service engine soon light is consistently coming on.... I looked at pictures comparing the two intakes (auto tranny vs manual) and the only difference i can see is the location of the maf sensor, the automatic injen versian, which is on my 6 spd manual fitting fine, has the maf sensor much closer to the throttle body.... the manual injen intake sits down a bit more... all my connections are correct, the maf is plugged in, and i have dont several resets, it took quite a bit of time before it came on too... but now its all the time... soon as i reset 10-20 miles later it pops on.... How can i read the code? also does anyone know if it may be becuase its the automatic transimission intake? I was told it wasnt going to fit but that def was not the case.... im a little confused... if anyone can help me out thatd be great! later

I'd bet it's because it was meant for an auto coupe. Not your 6spd. There must be a good reason why the design of the two intakes are different. Why you don't call Injen customer service and ask them why the two designs are different and why you cannot put an auto intake on the manual and vice versa.

dklau it was actually from my car, i took it off with chuck and put it on his, we were told it wouldnt fit but he said he would get it to fit and work, it fit perfect and nothing was wrong, now witht his stuff damm man, that sucks?!?!? Chuck man holla at me if u need some help..

I had the Injen RD1990 auto only intake on my 6MT sedan. While I did pull the intake off and sell it. I never ever once had even the hint of trouble from the intake. I sold it because it did not make power and without really thinking I went after a setup I thought would. Now I'm a learned fellow that speaks about how we're better off sticking with the oem setup, Z-tube and your choice of permormance panel filter. Now the Injen does make a wicked fun howl at around 4.5K, but sound doesn't equal power.

To add about my Injen, when other's mentioned about stalling problems with the Injen on MT cars when the clutch is dumped at 80mph or so. I ran mine up to 145mph, dumped the clutch, coasted down to 80mph and the idle never flinched. Did that two other times about a month latter same result.

doubt it.... but im going to change that anyway..... the wierd part about this is it only came on after i put the engine cover back on.... it was a tight squeeze with some of the wires... once it gets above 10 degrees ill take a look... glad to see u still on here wit ur BM n all :D

I would take the car into a Nissan dealer (this way the Infiniti warranty system doesn't get a head's up) and have them plug into the OBDII port and see if the normal MAF sensor readings are their.
